(715) CAPP 101: Elements of Studio Art
Course Description: (Open to grades 9, 10, 11, and 12)
CAPP 101: Elements of Studio Art is a year long course designed to give students experiences in a variety of 2D and 3D Studio Art Media and techniques in an effort to expand their knowledge, appreciation, and understanding of Art and Design within the context of Liberal Arts. Through a variety of two and three dimensional art making experiences and examination of contemporary artists and their art practices, you will grow your definition, knowledge, and understanding of art within the context of a liberal education. You will view and make art as a means of exploring, critiquing, and expressing ideas related to three important themes: identity, community, and sustainability. (For non-Art majors and minors) *fulfills 3 credits of liberal arts elective college requirements for all non-art college majors and will count as electives outside of major art or design majors. University of Wisconsin credits can be transferred to other universities. This course is offered in partnership with UW-Oshkosh. Upon successful completion of the course, students may earn UW-Oshkosh credit(s). Students are responsible for the cost of tuition. This course may be taken free of charge, without the option to earn college credit.
