Final website portfolio presentations will be ongoing throughout the week
Today we explored artistic movements from the 20th century, including Expressionism, Dadaism, Cubism, De Stijl and Surrealism! Students used the remainder of the time to complete their 20th century timeline project. A quick reminder that the Mini Masterpiece is due tomorrow at midnight.
Today we did a short activity in Jamboard where we researched different glazing styles and shared them out. The rest of the time was used for questions and worktime.
Reminder! All glazed projects must be dropped off at school by 2 p.m. on Jan. 13th to make the final glaze firing. Today we watched an interesting and informative Ted Talk on the idea of how procrastination can lead to creativity depending on how it is done. We had small group discussions for a chance to give feedback on material use in our current projects.
Reminder! Project 5 due tomorrow! Today we watched an AP art video bringing the previous two videos together (codifying). We followed the activity in the video and shared our responses.
Skill 2.C Demonstrate Synthesis of Materials, Ideas and Processes Video 3 “Codify” AP Video Activity Today we studied the importance of understanding the use of layering acrylic paint from background to foreground to create depth. We also practiced different painting techniques to use to create the texture or line we want on the MIni Masterpieces. Students began working on layering their paint on the canvases.
Today we played a Kahoot reviewing important glazing information. The remaining time was to pick up projects, supplies and start glazing.
Today we we watched three videos, providing useful glazing tips. The rest of the time was given to students for project pickup.

We also started the "Mini Masterpiece" project, painting our small canvases the base background color.
