Today we gave a quick reminder to sign up for classes before the deadline of Jan. 8th. We then started a collaborative activity using dice and guiding conversation questions in hopes to build stronger relationships. Each student was assigned to a random breakout room with another person and they were given one minute each to talk about their answer. We got through six different questions and ended with putting our final thoughts about the activity in the chat box.
Today we watched an AP Art Classroom video, providing us with examples of how we can show written and visual evidence pertaining to our sustained investigations. Students picked one of their projects they believe represents the best use of materials and uploaded it to padlet. They provided their guiding question and a list of materials above the photo. Each student was prompted to comment on how they perceived the artist's use of materials in relation to their SI. When everyone had commented, the artist talked about their thoughts behind using those specific materials. The goal of the activity was to get students to make purposeful decisions about materials they use to portray their idea.
It's your last asynchronous Friday before the holiday break! Woohoo! Enjoy your break, but get caught up, if you have any missing assignments! Here is what each class should be working on:
Today we looked at some examples of self portraits and continued on with developing our inverted grid image. We flipped our selfies upside down and uploaded them to Photopea where we placed the Trace Contour filter onto the image. This helped us to see the base lines of our facial features. We took the image and put it into google photos and began drawing our upside down contour lines into our sketchbook. We then went through a demo explaining the techniques used to add value to our drawings with colored pencils.
